Spaces of reflection aims to develop mediation methods to spark discourse on large scale exhibitions like documenta and tries to establish alternative forms of learning through transdiciplinary exchange and critical discourse on the field of art mediation.
Inspired by questions documenta14 evoked, the group consisting of students of fine arts, visual communication and art history with divers professional backgrounds f.e. in curating and art education came together to examine the exhibition together with chorus members of documenta14, artists and anthropologists from Athens.
How can we learn from art through mediation in sustainable ways? The project works as a platform and aims to create an open source archive of creative mediation methods and artistic exercises to be performed by and with diverse groups in the context of exhibitions or within the public space.
The first working period happened from 25th of October till 6 November 2017 on the locations in Athens.
The second working period happened from 21st till 28th February 2018 in Berlin at the Berlin Biennale for contemporary art.
